Many people today are awakening to something deep within
them and a new, expanded perception of reality. Often times leaps of awareness
happen spontaneously and the understanding of them doesn’t come until later. It
can be confusing and disorienting. Sometimes you don’t even know what questions
to ask to get a relevant answer and understand what’s happening. I’d like to
help with that, to the extent of my ability to do so.
If you are experiencing shifts in awareness, perhaps
physical symptoms that make no sense, or a sudden desire to spend more time
alone, you may be in the process of awakening. Sometimes memories long
forgotten come flooding back, one after another, almost like a life review.
Among the physical symptoms caused by the body’s response to an influx of high
frequency energy are dizziness, nausea, sudden headaches that pass quickly,
sleep disruptions, heat or tingling suddenly flushing through the body, and
changes in food cravings or allergies.
There is so much more that arises in the process of
awakening because the real you, your true self, is expanding into your
conscious awareness. Rather than cover all of them point by point, I’d like to
directly address any questions you may have about whatyou are personally
experiencing.
You can post your question(s) in a comment below. Post
anonymously if you feel more comfortable that way. I will answer them to the
best of my ability. If you prefer not to make your questions public you can
email me directly. That link is on the “About JaqStone”page above.

I loved this post. I have often thought spiritual awakening would be this smooth process toward the numinous--maybe not so it seems
ReplyDeleteHi, Audrey. It's more like fits and starts, exquisite moments and times of wondering if you've slipped backward. The further down the path you are the more you can see a natural progression, but early on it's hard to see how the pieces fit together.
DeleteThanks for commenting. Hope to see you soon on a bright and shiny new RG!
Great Post Jacqueline - My road traversed after an awakening 14 years ago has been a challenging journey – the battle vs ego and the society around us that seems to be walking down hill when I am now walking up hill. I think the biggest residual effect of my awakening was that fear no longer governed my life – that I understood how it all worked and I was a part of the entire process of energy, space and wisdom – thanks for sharing - JCB
ReplyDeleteHi, John. Not living in fear and understanding how it all works are powerful benefits of awakening. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to comment. Blessings to you!
DeleteThe awakening is very disorientating.
ReplyDeleteThen you seem to lose it. I wonder whats happenning? You do feel like you are going backwards. You grab at it.
Today I feel like I've gone backwards.
Is there a map for awakening. What is going on?
I sure wish there was a map, but there isn't. A big part of the awakening process is the gradual dissolution of all the false selves, the identities created by the ego that are not who we are. When it feels like you've gone backwards you're getting a glimpse of what is next to go. It is actually a gift, though I know it doesn't feel like it in the moment.
DeleteThe ego will try to convince you that every dysfunctional thought and emotion is you, that it is who you are. It is fighting for it's survival and needs you to identify yourself as the ego. Notice the thoughts running through your mind. Watch for judgment and resistance in them. That's the ego. It's not you. The more you can recognize when ego is talking, the more you loosen it's grip on you. The thought that there is something wrong with you or your awakening process comes from ego, not your true essence. When such thoughts come up I ask the most liberating question I know. "What's the truth here?" Sometimes I have to ask it repeatedly but sometimes only once and it brings me right back into that peaceful center. The next step on the path then becomes clear.
Each leap in awakening is different. If you catch yourself grasping at previous moments, stop, and become willing to experience something new. The most dramatic leaps happen early on. Then they become increasing subtle, yet more profound. So don't judge your awakening by the intensity of peak moments. Grasping at them prevents new experiences because only the ego tries to hang onto things or set restrictions on how something has to be.
