Lighten Up!

cat, funny, laughter, serious, spirituality, shift
I’ll be the first to admit that I am often times much too serious. My world consists of two playgrounds, my earth-bound playground of photography and art, and the one where I spend the most time. The greater focus of my life and work is self-awareness, transformation, and awakening. It is serious business, but hanging out on that playground all the time is too intense, even for me. Today I had the chance to laugh at my primary world, and it was great!

There was an issue with some of my posts not publishing on the Center of Oneness site. My partner joked that maybe I just didn’t want to be visible this past week. We have a natural tendency in this realm to look for the hidden meaning behind things. Thoughts of all the New Age and kind of “out there” philosophies came to mind and I wrote the following as a response to my partner. So, here’s the deeper meaning behind my posts not publishing. ;)

"Jupiter is in the wrong alignment with Mars while passing through a photon belt full of dark matter and the ascended master of blogging did not bless the posts right when the fairy ring aligned the elements to attune the akashic librarian to the frequency of the new crystal skull transmission of the shift". Obviously.

We both had a great laugh over it, and that is just what we needed. Starting any business is serious enough and when you combine that with teaching awakening, transformation, and such it can really take us out of touch with life. Life is meant to be a joyful adventure. It invites us to play all the time. If we take everything, especially ourselves, too seriously we miss all the fun. When we aren’t available to the fun in life we’ve missed the point of being human.

I know, serious stuff does happen, but not every minute of every day. We do have work to do, things to accomplish, but it all flows much smoother if we just lighten up a little. One of the best ways to do that is to look at what’s funny about us, about what we do, our job or industry, or the systems we participate in. When you can laugh at what’s personal to you you’ll be amazed at how much lighter and brighter you feel. So my question to you is, how can you lighten up today?

  1. You bet there are days when I get 'fussy', 'out of sorts' when things aren't working right. I have often noticed before, during, and after these events that my own 'flow', 'life force' and 'energy' are all out of whack or just plumb whacked. For me, it is truth when I can take a deep breath, pause, and see the humor of it. Your reply to your partner was really funny! Your friend Kaye ~ @grammakaye on twitter.

    1. We all get like that sometimes, Kaye. The key is seeing it and choosing to find something to shift out of it.

  2. Beiong able to stop and laugh at ourselves is such a gift. I don't do this often enough, and reading this post reminded me of that. It is so beneficial to lighten up and so easy to do with laughter!
